NAVIGON & TOM TOM IPHONE FREE CANADA AND USA

This app is is one of the best apps in terms of navigation without using the internet.
There are two problems, these are that there is no real north american version and to get the Europe version is very expensive. Do not get me wrong this app is very very good and i would say its worth the dollars, but who is willing to buy this app for $139.99 (Europe version).

There is a north American testing version on the internet but the problem is that they did not include the navigation part for north america all you can do is view a stupid demo of your route, even worst this app is 1.6 gigs to download and you need 2.5gig of free space to install on your phone. Wow thats a lot of space and who really needs the entire north american map.

I live in Toronto ON, Canada and i have this app running on my phone with NY map, Quebec map and Ontario map and it took up only 120megs.. Don't believe me just read some more.

What i have done along with a few of my friends from http://www.gpsunderground.com
is to hack both the North American and European Version of the app which i had to buy the European version. Put both apps together and get one small and simple app with all the features working perfect for any country map at a simple 20mbs..

Iphone needs to be jailbroken and have appsync for this app to work

Its very easy to do here are the steps:

download the old itunes 8 here if you havent done the update here

1. Download the app here 3D view not included (20megs)

or app with 3d view here (120megs)

2. Add the app to your iphone (sync with itunes)- works for jailbreak and non jailbreak iphones

and ipods with the external gps extension (all firmwares).

3. Download and install iphone browser here - for PC

or here for mac users

4. Below will be links with a tonnes of maps if you dont see your city the contact me and i will send you the link- download the map(s) you need and save it to your desktop.

5. Run iphone browser (the program you just installed) make sure that your iphone is plugged in

6. Go the the following location +Var-+Mobile-+applications (click the + beside each name)

you will then see a few long names (directories) no need to worry.

now click the plus (+) beside each of the long name under the application folder until u find the NAVIGON app.. it might be close to the bottom maybe the last one..

7. After click NAVIGON.app - you should see a long list of files showing in the window beside it.

8. Now drag and drop the map file or files you downloaded into the box showing the list list of files. wait a few minutes for each map to copy. (status bar at the bottom)..

9.) Close the program- restart phone and your all ready to go...

Maps

might take a bit of downloading to download so install rapidshare downloader and you should be fine(unrar using winrar).. unrar will give u a single map file using th 7 downloaed files.

or be safe and get the map of your city or citeis (CANADA AND USA) below
